Data Acquisition Server and Wireless Mesh Network
Model 3700
The Badger Meter Model 3700 is a powerful data acquisition system that allows users to log data easily and efficiently. No special software is required to set up the 3700 as most standard web browsers will communicate with it. Meter connections can be made to one of the eight inputs or via the standard modbus input.
The Model 3700 will automatically begin to log data as soon as it detects an input. The
user can then configure each point to set the
units of measure, log time, and other features.
The Model 345MB Modbus Btu Transmitter is a plug and play device with the Model
3700. Drivers are pre-loaded for quick and easy detection and configuration. Other
scaled pulse and analog devices will be detected and logged automatically as well.
The Model 3700 is compatible with a variety of devices.
Data that has been collected may be accessed via an Ethernet connection and by using standard web browser PC software. This can either be collected with a local PC or by placing the Ethernet connection on a LAN, which would allow for remote collection. Once collected, the data can be trended using a standard spreadsheet program.
Model 345WT
The Badger Meter Model 345WT is a wireless mesh transceiver. Connecting one to a Model 3700 and then deploying one or more in remote applications allows for a self-healing mesh network to be created that provides additional connectivity for more sensors.
The Model 345WT offers reduced installation costs by removing the need for installing signal wires for each output device. The self-healing mesh demonstrates its signal strength and routing back to the Model 3700 so low signal paths can be seen and then corrected by adding additional transceivers.
The Model 345WT requires no configuration. It allows for two scaled pulse inputs as well as
a modbus input for additional expansion. When
a pulse device is connected to the 345WT it automatically routes the signal back to the 3700
where it is detected and data logging begins.
The use of the Model 345WT with the Model 3700 provides a powerful solution for installing flow meters and other devices where wiring is either inconvenient or costly. Industrial plants, college campuses, and
commercial facilities are a good example of users that could benefit from the features of these products.
